The project seeks to integrate remanufacturing into the business model of the manufacturing industry, highlighting the key role of design in the creation of products that are easier to repair and recycle. To achieve this, innovative tools for defect detection will be developed, together with a multi-robot system capable of disassembling and reconditioning products for their reinsertion into the production chain.
This initiative, driven by experts and based on the resources available in the SUDOE area, is committed to innovation to raise the technological level of a traditionally less advanced sector. As a result, companies will obtain greater competitive advantages, especially those located in inland areas, thus contributing to a more balanced territorial development.
In addition, the project will promote new employment and business opportunities, helping to curb depopulation in these areas affected by the lack of job opportunities.
Expected results
The project aims to develop advanced tools for breakage detection and a multi-robot system capable of disassembling and conditioning products for their reintroduction into the production chain. As a first case study, a pilot action will be implemented in the footwear industry, designing a technology to disassemble shoes and prepare them for reuse in the production process.
To bring this innovation to the industry and other sectors, the project has the key participation of FICE, INESCOP, AIDA CCI and several universities of the consortium. In addition, its adoption will be promoted through dissemination strategies, knowledge transfer and technical publications, ensuring that both industry and the scientific community can benefit from these advances and, in the long term, strengthen the technological capacity of companies.
